Food Grade Food Additive Sweetener Sucralose
Sucralose is an artificial sweetener and sugar substitute. The majority of ingested sucralose is not broken down by the body, so it is calorie-free. Sucralose is about 320 to 1,000 times sweeter than that of sucrose, three times as sweet as aspartame, twice as sweet as saccharin, and three times as sweet as acesulfame potassium. It is stable under heat and over a broad range of pH conditions. Therefore, it can be used for baking or products that require a longer shelf life.
Characteristics of Sucralose:
■ High sweetness; Pure taste. Its sweetness is about 600 times that of sucrose, with very similar sweetness properties as sucrose.
■ Stable property; Good solubility and processing stability; Long shelf-life; Heat stability; Acid and Alkali resistance.
■ Non-nutritive sweetener. Ideal sugar substitute for caries disease, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity groups.
■ Absolute safety. ADI 0 ~ 15 mg/kg has been approved for use in more than 100 countries and territories.
