1. Healthy Cholesterol Levels Maintenance
Many clinical trials over the years from all over the world have shown that the oat beta glucan can lower the LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol. High cholesterol is one of risk factors in the coronary heart disease. Adding oat beta glucan to the foods helps to protect the health of heart. Research studies have demonstrated that compared to the control group, intake by 5g/day oat beta glucan can reduce total cholesterol by up to 7.4%.
The European Commission has granted the following health claim: Oat beta glucan can lower the cholesterol levels. Iintake of 3g/day oat beta glucan can lower the LDL level in serum there by reducing the risk of coronary heart disease.

2. Blood Glucose Response Reduction
Oat beta glucan is an active ingredient with effect of reducing blood glucose response. Many clinical trials showed that intake of 30g carbohydrate at least including 4g oat beta glucan can help reduce blood glucose levels after the meal. During the evaluation of the research for intake of 5g oat beta glucan after meal, the blood glucose reduce by 19%(p<0.005)30 minutes after meal, and the blood glucose reduce by 16%(p<0.066)60 minutes after meal.

3.Healthy Digestive System Improvement
Oat beta glucan can improve and maintain the colon health by affecting gut microbial components and metabolism, increasing moisture, fermentating to generate useful short chain fatty acids. Based on in vitro intestinal fermentation model, oat beta glucan can be fermented to produce more butyrate than any other fiber, thus can improve the colon health, because butyrate is the main energy source for colonocytes and has demonstrated anti-inflammatory and anticarcinogenic properties.
